NYC Love

Hey there, I just returned from a short trip to one of my favourite cities in the world – New York City! While the Magnolias were already in their most stunning bloom, the temperatures were still chilly …brrrr….! Stay tuned for some new recovered city hot spots!

The Brooklyn Flea

One of my favourite places in Brooklyn is the Brooklyn Flea which happens every Sunday since 2008 in a high school parking lot close to Ft. Greene Park. The whole area is worth a walk with its beautiful brownstone houses, its blooming trees and the small familiar restaurants and cafes nearby.

The Brooklyn Flea is the biggest outdoor market of New York, where you can find selected vintage treasures, local furniture makers, craft artists from photographers to jewelry makers and fresh made pizza from Pizza Moto, handmade pastries or icecream. A beautiful and inspirative start for a sunny Sunday outside!

Springtime in New York

New York

New York is one of my favorite cities!
It impressed me so much! All the beautiful antique and contemporary architecture, the people living in New York coming from all over the world and giving the city a great feeling of toleranz. And because of it`s natural faces: Greenich Village and Central Park.

What comes around goes around

On my way through Soho and after having a great sandwich at “Dean & DeLuca”,
i discovered another interesting store called “What goes around Comes Around”.
The store offers unique vintage pieces and their great vintage inspired clothing line, which shows hints of romantic victorian elements mixed with a cool 80ies punk attitude.

Cool cat in front of the “What goes around comes around” store…look at his shoes!

Junia loves…Williamsburg

Williamsburg is my favourite hood in Brooklyn!
You will find as well a lot of edgy and stylish shops for clothing and handcrafted jewelry, vintage and young designer markets as unique interior stores and young creative people everywhere.
Visit Williamsburg by taking the train to “Bedford Avenue” and take your time!

Group of stylish people walking through the hood…i imagined they would be a rock band.

I also liked the “Artists and fleas market” indoor market, which reminded me pretty much of Brick Lane in London.
Similar creative flair with great vintage picks, unique jewelry and alternative clothing.
Some of my favourites are: “Nanako”, “Brass Isaac”, “Corvus Noir” and in the first place “etc…modern vintage jewelry”.

etc…modern vintage jewelry shows a unique line of modern-vintage jewelry which is designed by Liz and Kim Teich.
The designers had the idea to recycle vintage and antique pieces and to update them with a modern twist.
I really like the idea of having a unique accessoire with a vintage soul!

Urban Outfitters, NY

Another of my favourite shops in NYC is the Urban Outfitters shop on 628 Broadway, because i really love their interior style which shows an unique mix of deconstruction and decoration, like vintage flower tapestry on raw wood surfaces.

Urban Outfitters sells a huge selection of flower patterned dresses and shirts, selected vintage clothing, eclectic accessoires and retro interior and home decorations.
The labels differ from the labels they sell in the UK: there were many styles from their label “Kimchi Blue” which had lovely patterns and prints but neither the prices (between $48 and $69 for a simple jersey dress) nor the quality was good. Anyway, i think this Urban Outfitters i worth a visit!

Junia loves … Anthropologie!

One of the most amazing shops i have ever seen was Anthropologie, NY.
I went to their shop in Soho on 375 West Broadway

This shop is so beautiful! Like a unique wonderland in which you experience pleasures in every corner. Everything was inpired by vintage. They sell beautiful patterned clothes but even nicer home decorations and gifts with beautiful, vintage inspired prints.

Please visit the Anthropologie shop on 375 West Broadway!
