Byzantine seems to be the main inspiration of Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel’s Prefall 2011 collection, “It’s all about mosaics,” Karl told wwd. “I thought it was an influence that could be very much Chanel,” he said. “It’s also about a spirit.”
