AW 2011/12

Miu Miu

Miuccia Prada returned to flower and bird patterns, with sophisticated, glamourous 1940′s inspired silhouettes, triangle shoulder coats and slim pencilskirt dresses. Chosen colours were black with white collars and flower prints, rust-orange shades, fresh white, dove blue and mustard. I love Abbey Lee in that flower dress!!!

MFW AW 2011 – GUCCI

There is no Milano without Gucci! Frida Giannini created a beautiful, glamorous Seventies collection enriched by strong colours like smaragd green, deep blue, burgundy to rust shades and accents of mustard yellow. “I loved how she looked to the Seventies but not in the exaggerated way that everybody seems to,” said Calgary Avansino afterwards. “It was a genuine tribute to the best of that look.” The Gucci girls wore luxurious materials like shiny leathers, transparent dotted chiffons, flowing silks and bright coloured fur stoles as accessories.

LFW AW 2011 – Topshop Unique

Topshop Unique AW 2011 showed a fun but glamorous collection inspired by the jazz age and the movie “One Hundred and One Dalmatians”. Playful dot patterns and cute puppy intarsias were paired with sleek silhouettes and sophisticated looks like silky pyjama overalls, cute tea dresses, pencilskirts, playful patterned blouses and statement faux fur coats. One of my favourites is the burn out Brooklyn Bridge dress!

LFW AW 2011 – Bora Aksu

Aksu was inspired by “Old movie posters and book covers of Jekyll and Hyde and Sweeney Todd were good reference points. Dark motives against an air of respectability and how to incorporate both of those characteristics into one look”. Key shapes were tailored capes, mid-length full circle skirts, corset inspired tops and maxi skirts accentuated with feminine bows and lace decoration. The main colours were foggy grey shades, metallic silver, black leathers and knit elements enriched with refreshing sapphire green.

LFW AW 2011 – Aminaka Wilmont

Gorgeous prints, draped silhouettes, black leather and an occult athmosphere at Aminaka Wilmont. Great witchcraft inspired accessories like birdskull and scarab pendants, hairy fur boleros and amber coloured contact lense emphasis the mystic occurence of the models. Also love the avatar reminding braids and the slit maxi skirts!
